Bulding Bridges from Product Vision to Requirements

The commercial success of a visionary medical device or therapy depends considerably on its user friendliness. Therefore, great attention must be paid to the user-centered development of medical devices alongside technical engineering.

More than that, clear and intuitive handling is crucial for a safe and efficient use of a device mandated by regulations.

As an interdisciplinary engineering company, konplan has learned over time how to support its clients transforming their early product visions into industrialized, user-friendly medical devices. A key element is the journey from product vision to tangible technical requirements.

In the presentation, we will show a potential approach to achieve this by involving users and the application environment right from the beginning and, based on this, sharpening the vision and the USP of the product.
This as a basis also provides fundamental information and an overall view for the definition and further development of the medical device itself and the safe application in an usually larger medical environment with other medical devices.

To conclude, we will present one or two project examples to illustrate which steps have proven successful in building the bridge between vision and requirements in early phases of medical product development.
