Model based cybersecurity : Safety by design in growing complexity
Over the last decades, the importance of cybersecurity has evolved from a niche subject topic to one that has now been understood as a pillar of system design. However, as many recent experiences have demonstrated, the rising complexity of interconnected systems combined with the growing interest and means of threat actors meant that the traditional methods of analysis have lagged behind the requirements to account for dangerous attack vectors.
In this light, this presentation will focus on applying a model-based approach to cybersecurity, treating it as an integral part of system architecture and showing how the application of MBSE, traceability, single source of truth, data re-use and a proactive approach to threats and mitigations can assist in combatting the expanding and diversifying threat environment with a method and tool powered approach to safeguard our systems in this new age of malicious threats and grey warfare.
