The Systems Engineering Reference Enterprise Architecture (SEREA)

Join us for an insightful presentation on the Systems Engineering Reference Enterprise Architecture (SEREA), a model designed to support enterprises in adopting the Unified Architecture Framework (UAF). SEREA is an architecture description modeled in UAFML and based on ISO 15288, providing an operational-level template for any enterprise that develops, uses, maintains, or retires systems.
This presentation will explore how SEREA facilitates UAF adoption by delivering a standardized enterprise architecture that enhances both internal and external communication. We will demonstrate how operational activities can be traced from high-level vision and drivers, through operational and resource architectures, down to the specifications of enabling and supporting systems.
Additionally, we will show how SysML can be used in combination with SEREA to extend this traceability further—linking architectural descriptions all the way to component specifications. This comprehensive approach enables AI agents to interpret structured data about the enterprise and its systems, providing essential context to support enterprise operations.
Notably, SEREA is being developed collaboratively within a working group of the Gesellschaft für Systems Engineering (GfSE), fostering ongoing knowledge sharing among systems engineering professionals.
